Why we split Google eligibility from Schema.org validity

Most generators tell you the code is “valid” and stop. But Google runs two different checks, and so should you. Valid Schema.org markup does not mean you’ll get a rich result — and a rich result is never guaranteed even when everything passes.

Rich Results Test

Checks whether your markup qualifies for a Google Search feature (Product, Article, Breadcrumb, Event, Recipe, and more) with its required and recommended fields.

Schema.org Validator

Checks generic Schema.org vocabulary across JSON-LD, Microdata and RDFa — with no Google-specific feature warnings. Broader, but not tied to search results.

Frequently asked

Does valid markup guarantee a rich result?

No. Eligibility means your markup meets Google’s documented rules. Google still decides whether — and when — a rich result appears in Search. Our tool never promises otherwise.

Which schema types are supported?

Article, Product, Organization, Local Business, Event, Recipe, FAQ Page and Breadcrumbs today, with more added regularly. You can also paste any JSON-LD (including @graph and multiple blocks) to validate it.

How do I add schema to my page?

Copy the generated JSON-LD and paste it inside a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag in your page’s <head> or <body>. Then use “Test URL” to confirm it’s live, and verify in Google’s Rich Results Test.

Is FAQ schema still worth adding?

Google now shows FAQ rich results only for authoritative government and health sites. It’s still valid, useful markup for understanding — our tool labels it honestly rather than promising a rich result.
